Corinthians reached the Paulista semi-finals after drawing 1-1 with Portuguesa at Canindé, then winning 8-7 on penalties, with goalkeeper Hugo Souza the hero. As reported by Meu Timao, the quarter-final stage has been a permanent part of the competition since 2011.

Souza saved a first-half penalty, Vitinho scored in normal time, and in the shootout the keeper denied two more to seal progress.

This was the 15th time this century Corinthians have reached the last eight, and they have converted 13 of those into semi-final berths, a success rate of 86.7%.

Across the period, they missed the knockout rounds only in 2014 and 2024. Their two quarter-final exits came in 2012 to Ponte Preta and in 2023 to Ituano.

In 2025, en route to the title, they beat Mirassol 2-0 in the quarters with goals from Memphis Depay and Ángel Romero, then ousted Santos and overcame Palmeiras in the final. They now face Novorizontino in the semi-final, and, if they advance, will meet the winner of Palmeiras against São Paulo.
