Corinthians incurred losses of more than R$ 100,000 during 21 days when the Fazendinha was unavailable, with the pitch under maintenance. Eight fixtures were moved to alternative venues.

According to ge.globo, the pitch has now been cleared for use after a Federação Paulista de Futebol inspection, and the ground can host games again. The club has also decided to reduce academy use, prioritising the women’s first team, with only the under-17s scheduled there for now.

During the shutdown, Corinthians rented Canindé, CERET, Bruno José Daniel and Gabriel Marques Silva. The heaviest deficits came at Canindé, with the women’s side against Santos costing R$ 45,958.14 and the match with Vitória R$ 36,966.75. The under-17s’ meeting with Bahia at the same venue added a R$ 26,431.47 shortfall.

At CERET, the women’s under-20s beat Red Bull Bragantino 5-0 yet posted a R$ 5,552.16 deficit. Across the four fixtures with published financial reports, losses totalled R$ 114,908.52.

Four other matches from the maintenance period had no financial bulletins, so the overall loss should be higher. These were Corinthians 1-3 Ferroviária in the women’s under-17 Brasileiro, Corinthians 4-0 Ferroviária in the Paulista under-20, Corinthians 4-0 São Caetano in the Paulista under-17, and Corinthians 8-0 UDA in the women’s under-17 Brasileiro.

The stadium is set to reopen next Wednesday when the under-17s face Fluminense in the national competition. The women’s first team return on Saturday 22 to play Internacional, the final round of the Brasileirão’s first phase.
