Corinthians unveiled their 2026 third shirt on Friday, and some supporters have rejected the design.
According to Meu Timao, a site poll drew 92 votes, with 53.3% disapproving and 46.7% in favour. Comments argued it clashes with club tradition, and some compared the light blue look to other teams, including Santos' 2025/26 alternative shirt.
The strip marks 50 years since the Invasão Corinthiana at the Maracanã in 1976, and takes its cue from the jersey worn by Tobias, the goalkeeper who became one of that campaign's symbols.
It is on sale via Nike's official site. The Torcedor Pro costs R$ 379,99 via Pix or R$ 399,99 in up to three instalments. The Player version is R$ 712,49 via Pix or R$ 750,00 in up to six, and the children's shirt is R$ 332,49 via Pix or R$ 349,99 in up to two.
The Player version features Nike Aero-Fit, which replaces Dri-FIT ADV and is designed to improve ventilation and thermal control, keeping athletes dry and more comfortable.
Tobias, who died in 2024 aged 75, made 125 appearances for Corinthians. He was the undisputed starter in the 1976 Brazilian Championship run that included the Maracanã invasion in the semi-final against Fluminense, and he was part of the 1977 Paulista title win that ended a 23-year drought.
Nike have also used the Invasão theme across this year's main white and black shirts, the latter with white stripes, and the crest is styled after the 1940 to 1980 design created by former player Francisco Rebolo. The new third shirt will first be worn by Corinthians' goalkeepers, with the men's and women's keepers using it against Fluminense and Bahia respectively as a tribute to Tobias, despite being designed for outfield players.
