Corinthians to face hosts Joaçaba in International Futsal Challenge final after 1-0 over Boca Juniors | OneFootball

Corinthians reached the final of the Desafio Internacional de Futsal in Joaçaba after a 1-0 win over Boca Juniors on Saturday, and will face the hosts for the title.

According to Meu Timao, the decider is on Sunday at 18h30 at the Centro de Eventos da Unoesc, with live coverage on the LNFTV and Jovem Pan Joaçaba YouTube channels.

Joaçaba booked their place by overturning Cerro Porteño 4-3 on Saturday. William, Ceará, a Kiki Vaporaki own goal, and Isaac scored for the Santa Catarina side, with Jorge Espinoza and Alan Rojas, twice, replying for the Paraguayans.

For the final, Corinthians will be without coach Fernando Malafaia on the bench and without Renatinho on court, both sent off in the semi-final against Boca.

The flashpoint came at nine minutes of the first half, when a heated confrontation drew in several players and staff. Police entered the court and play was halted for several minutes. The Boca Juniors coach and Fernández were also dismissed.

Before the showpiece, Boca Juniors and Cerro Porteño meet for third place at 16h at the same venue.

The tournament forms part of the celebrations for the 109 years of Joaçaba’s political and administrative emancipation, marked on 25 August. After Santa Catarina, Corinthians return to domestic action on 28 September, hosting Pato in the first leg of the Liga Nacional de Futsal play-offs at 21h30 at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, Parque São Jorge.
