Corinthians fans have chosen João Pedro Tchoca to replace Gabriel Paulista against Chapecoense on Sunday, with the centre-back suspended for accumulated bookings.

According to Meu Timao, 80.3% backed the 23-year-old, ahead of Iago Machado on 13.6% and Yago Melo on 2.3%.

Tchoca could come in as André Ramalho remains sidelined by labyrinthitis and is working indoors at CT Joaquim Grava, while Raniele is also suspended.

Under Fernando Diniz this season, Tchoca has played twice, the 16 August Brasileirão defeat to Cruzeiro and the 20 August Libertadores match as Corinthians progressed past Rosario Central.

Before that, he had not featured since 19 March, a goalless draw with Chapecoense. He then went 27 matches without playing and underwent surgery in May to repair an inguinal hernia. He returned after the World Cup pause and has seven appearances in 2026.

Corinthians host Chapecoense at 19:30 on Sunday at Neo Química Arena in the 26th round of the Brasileirão. They are seeking a response after a run of three straight league defeats.
