Corinthians fans unveil record flag at Derby in Campeonato Paulista

Corinthians will host Palmeiras on the night of this Sunday (8), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), at the Neo Química Arena, in a match valid for the seventh round of the first phase of the 2026 Paulista Championship. The Alvinegro is currently in fifth place on the overall table with 11 points (three wins, two draws, and one loss – nine goals scored and five conceded).

Besides the attraction of the Derby on the field, the match will be special for Estopim da Fiel, one of Corinthians' main organized fan groups. This is because, in the classic, the group will debut the largest banner ever produced in its history, measuring 130 meters in length and 33 meters in height, totaling 4,290 square meters.

The banner is expected to cover the entire north sector of the Neo Química Arena, precisely where the main organized fan groups of Corinthians are located (Gaviões da Fiel, Estopim da Fiel, Fiel Macabra, Coringão Chopp, Camisa 12, and Pavilhão Nove). Estopim was founded in 1979 and is known as the oldest organized fan group in the ABC Paulista region.

In an interview with Central do Timão at the Cássio Brandão event last Saturday (7), at Pacaembu, Rogério Bambu, a counselor and former president of Estopim on three occasions, highlighted the professional accomplishment of seeing the banners being displayed. Bambu produces digitalized flags for several other fan groups, but according to him, it becomes more special when it involves his beloved club.

A victory for Corinthians tonight could move the team to second place with 14 points, provided RB Bragantino does not win their match. If this happens, they will remain in third. The leader of the state championship is Novorizontino, with 16 points accumulated so far.
