Corinthians Futsal winger hails LNF win, targets national title

On the night of Friday, October 17, Corinthians hosted Carlos Barbosa at the Wlamir Marques Gymnasium, Parque São Jorge, for the second match of the round of 16 of the National Futsal League (LNF) and won by a score of 2 x 1. In the first game, the teams drew 1 x 1. The goals for Alvinegro were scored by Luisinho and Deives.

After the match, the scorer of the first goal spoke to reporters present in the gym. Luisinho explained the play that allowed him to open the scoring of the duel: “Man, that's a play we practice a lot, me and Renatinho. And we had agreed, we said, man, let's do it, let's believe that one day it will work. Thank God it worked.”

The Corinthians player considered the goal scored as one of the most important of his career. “A gem, right, man... it's hard to say, but my first goal as a professional, which was also against Carlos Barbosa. But it's hard to say, but I think it was one of the (most important). One of them”, he opined.

He continued talking about the match. “Man, in these games, the mental has to be very strong, we say that half of the game is mental, right, man? In this game, it's a classic, so whoever makes fewer mistakes ends up winning. So you always have to have a very strong mentality, sometimes we will make mistakes, but you have to have a strong mind to get it right the next time”, he said.

Luisinho also took the opportunity to praise Deives, the scorer of the second goal for Alvinegro this Friday: “Since the youth team, he (Deives) has always welcomed me very well. When I moved up to the professional team, he was the guy who helped me. It's an inexplicable feeling, right? The guy I used to see training here, being able to play with him. So just thank him, and if possible, may he continue playing. But if it's the last (season), we will fight until the end so that we can win the titles, for him to finish well.”

Asked about the crowd at Wlamir Marques, the athlete celebrated the great presence of the Fiel. “Man, it's inexplicable when it's full, right? Today wasn't one of the fullest days, but compared to the crowd that used to come, you could say it was full. And they are the sixth player, right? They help us a lot. It's an inexplicable feeling when they are here at home. Ask them to keep coming, as we will continue working to achieve bigger goals”, he stated.

According to Luisinho, the team has no preference for who to face in the quarter-finals (Magnus and Santo André are the options), stating that regardless of the opponent, it will be necessary to work and win if the team wants to be champions – which is his main goal, above goals or assists: “Of course we have personal goals. But the most important thing is for us to win the games, to be champions. And then, of course, if we can keep assisting and scoring goals, it's even better.”

He continued talking about the topic. “We are working hard. When we wear the Corinthians jersey, it can't be different, we have to think about titles because we live for that, Corinthians lives for titles, so we will fight and battle to the maximum so that we can come out with the titles”, he concluded.
