Corinthians hit 100, outclass Unifacisa for third straight NBB win

On Saturday night (8), Corinthians returned to the court for their seventh match in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). At Arena Unifacisa, in Campina Grande/PB, Timão faced the home team and, in a game dominated almost the entire time, came away with another victory this season, this time by 105 x 75.

With this result, the People’s Team now has five wins and two losses in the competition, matching the record of Franca, who are in third place on the standings. In the next round, the Alvinegro returns to the Wlamir Marques Gymnasium, where they will host São José next Tuesday (11) at 8:30 pm (Brasília time).

For the match, coach Jece Leite kept the same starters as in previous games: Davaunta Thomas, Victão, Elyjah Clark, Gabriel Novaes, and Elinho. To fill the bench, the choices were Tico Faria, Cardoso, Kaique, Kauan Raymundo, Rafael Munford, and Lucas Cauê.

The game started evenly, with Unifacisa even leading the scoreboard at times in the first quarter, which nevertheless ended with Corinthians ahead by 19 x 18. From the following quarters on, however, Timão dominated the home team, continuously increasing their advantage, winning the next two quarters by 28 x 15 and 34 x 18, and just managing the final ten minutes, which ended tied at 24 points.

The top scorer of the game was Elyjah Clark, totaling 25 points for Corinthians. Davaunta Thomas also stood out with 19 points overall. Kauan Raymundo led in rebounds, with eight in total, and Elinho once again led the team in assists, providing eight to his teammates.
