Corinthians join Palmeiras and Cruzeiro to speed call-ups’ arrival for Libertadores Feminina | OneFootball

Corinthians, Palmeiras and Cruzeiro are working together to secure a charter that will take their Brazil call-ups straight to Quito ahead of the Libertadores Feminina.

The clubs plan to share the cost of an aircraft that is expected to depart Recife after the second Brazil v Argentina friendly, with the initial plan for the players to land in Ecuador by 14 October before lunchtime.

The rest of the Corinthians squad, plus Emily Lima’s staff, will travel to Quito in the early hours of 13 October.

"They will go directly to Ecuador. I am already trying to align with the other teams that have players heading to the Libertadores. We are working with the CBF to minimise the athletes’ fatigue and get them to Quito as soon as possible," she told Meu Timao.

Brazil face Argentina on 10 and 13 October, with the second match at Arena Pernambuco in Recife at 20:30. There will be 44 hours and 30 minutes between the final whistle and Corinthians’ opener against Colo-Colo on 15 October at 17:00 Brasília time.

Corinthians have four called up, defender Thaís Ferreira, midfielder Duda Sampaio and forwards Jaqueline and Jhonson. Palmeiras have full-back Raissa Bahia and forwards Bia Zaneratto and Tainá Maranhão, while Cruzeiro have forward Marília.

Before the FIFA window and the Libertadores, Corinthians contest the Brasileirão Feminino final on Saturday at 16:30, away to São Paulo at Morumbis, needing to overturn a 2-1 first-leg defeat.

Group games follow on 18 October against Caracas at 21:00 and on 21 October against Independiente Santa Fe at 17:00.
