Corinthians’ Justice Committee has kept its inquiry into Duilio Monteiro Alves over corporate card use and has postponed his hearing to next week, after sending its findings on Andrés Sanchez’s tenure to the Ethics Committee.

According to Meu Timao, Duilio was due to appear on Monday night, but internal issues delayed the session. He is now expected next Monday. Finance staff have been or will be heard, including former finance director Wesley Melo, who recently went to Parque São Jorge to explain the card’s operation and use during his term.

Once its review ends, the committee will forward an opinion to the Ethics Committee, led by Leonardo Pantaleão, vice-president of the Deliberative Council and formerly legal director in Augusto Melo’s administration. Sanctions could include removal, suspension or expulsion from the membership.

Duilio is a lifetime councillor and sits on the Cori, but has stepped away from club activities since the Public Prosecutor’s complaint.

In October 2025, São Paulo’s Public Prosecutor charged him with embezzlement over alleged personal spending on the card between 2021 and 2023. Prosecutor Cassio Roberto Conserino cited restaurants, a hairdresser, duty free purchases, cigarettes, alcoholic drinks, luxury hotel stays and wine, noting the presidency is unpaid.

Former finance manager Roberto Gavioli was also accused of omission for not blocking personal use, and already faces a separate case from the Andrés Sanchez period.

Records from 26 September to 31 October 2023 indicated more than R$ 80,000 in non-institutional spending. In a November deposition, Duilio acknowledged only R$ 1,300 in personal expenses, the complaint states.

Prosecutors cite a loss of R$ 41,822.62 to the club, which could rise with interest and inflation correction, plus an estimated R$ 31,366.96 in damages. They also raise potential tax evasion, arguing such spending amounted to undeclared indirect remuneration.

Separately, the committee will review ex-president Augusto Melo’s expenses and issues flagged by an internal audit on a possible diversion of Nike sporting goods, having already heard staff and second vice-president Armando Mendonça. It is handling one former president at a time, so Augusto Melo follows once Duilio’s case ends.
