Corinthians keeper eyed by European giant, says Italian outlet

With less than a month until the opening of the transfer window in Europe, goalkeeper Hugo Souza has sparked interest from one of Italy's biggest clubs. According to the Italian portal Sky Sport, the Corinthians player is among the names being observed by Milan.

According to the report, the Rossoneri club is working to extend the contract of Mike Maignan, which ends in June 2026 and is considered a priority. However, if the renewal does not progress, the management is already analyzing possible substitutes, and Hugo is one of the options considered.

To secure the Brazilian, however, a significant investment would be necessary. Hugo has a contract with Corinthians until December 31, 2029, and the Italian outlet mentions that his market valuation is around 12 million euros, approximately R$ 76 million.

At 26 years old, the goalkeeper is an undisputed starter for Corinthians and is seen as one of the standout players in the position in the country. He has been frequently called up by Carlo Ancelotti for the Brazilian National Team and aims to compete in the 2026 World Cup.

For the alvinegro club, Hugo Souza has already accumulated 86 games and one title: the 2025 Paulista Championship. The list may grow, as Corinthians is still active in the season and is competing in the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil, facing Cruzeiro this Wednesday (10), at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), at Mineirão, for the first leg.
