Tite said he regrets not returning to the club. The 2012 Libertadores and Club World Cup-winning coach was approached in 2023, shortly after the World Cup, but turned the offer down.

Elsewhere, the club from Parque São Jorge published its March financial statement and recorded a deficit of more than R$ 130 million. The shortfall is almost 50% higher than the previous month, which showed a deficit of R$ 93 million.

Those developments framed a significant day for Corinthians, with Brazil's squad set to be confirmed next week and the board poring over the latest numbers.
