Corinthians leadership face court cases and club sanctions since 2015 | OneFootball

Corinthians are in one of their gravest crises, with institutional and financial turmoil triggering court and internal cases against senior figures since 2015, according to Meu Timao’s review of 12 elected leaders to 2026.

Andrés Sanchez, president from 2018 to 2020, is a defendant over alleged corporate card misappropriation, the case was paused in December 2025 with restrictions and an asset freeze. A laundering and tax complaint was rejected in March 2026 and appealed, and he was expelled in May 2026.

Duilio Monteiro Alves had a 2023 laundering inquiry that police sought to archive, then became a defendant in March 2026 over corporate card spending. Another inquiry opened in January 2026, and he resigned club posts on 28 May 2026 amid expulsion bids.

Augusto Melo was charged in the VaideBet case, becoming a defendant for alleged criminal association, money laundering and qualified theft. A corporate card probe into his tenure was archived. His 2024 accounts were rejected, he was suspended and removed by members in August 2025, then expelled in 2026.

Osmar Stabile, first vice under Melo and president since August 2025, was denounced for qualified misappropriation over personal security payments, a case awaiting judicial review. He is also investigated over another security contract and faces three impeachment bids. Armando Mendonça became a defendant in June 2026 in the Nike case, and a new ethics process is under way.

Alexandre Husni was questioned in a federal probe into judge Leonardo Safi de Melo’s group, admitted paying R$ 17,000 linked to a private case and was not charged, and now faces a representation over statute reform. No cases were found against Elie Werdo, Luiz Wagner Alcântara or Edna Murad Hadlik. Roberto de Andrade had a 2016 inquiry archived and an impeachment bid rejected, while André Negão was bailed over illegal firearm possession after Lava Jato questioning without charge, then faced an ethics case with no sanction.
