Corinthians have loaned right-back Gabriel Caipira, 21, to Betim of Minas Gerais, who compete in the Brasileiro Série D. The move has been recorded in the CBF’s BID.
His deal with Betim runs until the end of 2026, the same expiry as his Corinthians contract. Rádio TMC reports there had been scope for a renewal at the club, which did not materialise, and any revisit would depend on his productivity in Minas Gerais.
Caipira’s exit is part of a broader shake-up overseen by academy executive Erasmo Damiani. On Tuesday, four other players were released.
Without first-team opportunities, the right-back trained apart after recovering from a tibial stress fracture, an injury that kept him out of this year’s Copinha, his final youth tournament.
Other overage prospects have also moved on this season. Paraguayan centre-back Fernando Vera joined ZTE FC in Hungary, while midfielder Thomas Lisboa signed permanently for JK Tammeka in Estonia.
Raised largely at Parque São Jorge, Caipira even featured as a forward in 2024. He is from the same cohort as Gabriel Moscardo, Wesley and Breno Bidon, who earned prominence in Corinthians’ first team. In 2025 he logged six assists for the under-20s and captained the team.
