Gabriel Paulista celebrates Corinthians’ Libertadores progress with Gaviões da Fiel

Corinthians beat Rosario Central 1-0 to reach the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals, and Gabriel Paulista marked the night by celebrating with the club’s fans.
According to Meu Timao, after full-time on Thursday the defender went to the North Stand, the base for organised supporters, joining Gaviões da Fiel in the "porópópó" chant.
His connection with the group runs deep. His brother Rogério, a Gaviões da Fiel member who dreamed of playing for Corinthians, had his life cut short before he could.
Encouraged by Rogério, Gabriel came through at Vitória in 2009, then moved to Villarreal in 2013, at the time a record sale for Bahian football. He later featured for major European clubs before joining Corinthians.
The quarter-final pits Corinthians against Estudiantes of Argentina. Thanks to their campaign, they will play the decisive match at home.
Fernando Diniz’s side are back in action on Sunday at 19:30, away to Coritiba at Estádio Couto Pereira in the 24th round of the Brasileirão.
