Corinthians loanee unlikely to stay at Atlético-GO

Revealed in Corinthians' youth academy, defender Renato, who is on loan to Atlético-GO until March 2026, is not expected to remain at the Goiás club after the end of the loan period. After being promoted to the professional squad at the beginning of this year, the defender was not utilized by Ramón Díaz, the team's coach at the time, and was loaned out in mid-April.

The information was initially reported by Itatiaia. According to the report, Atlético-GO will meet with the player's agents in the coming weeks to define some alternatives. There is a possibility of an early release.

Since being loaned to Atlético-GO, Renato has not played for the Goiás club. The young player was only listed for one match, in the goalless draw against Operário at Estádio Antônio Accioly, in the penultimate round of the Série B of the Brazilian Championship.

Renato has a contract with Corinthians until July 2027. The young defender, born in 2004, was champion of the 2024 Copinha with Timãozinho, against Cruzeiro, at Neo Química Arena. In that victory, he formed a defensive partnership with João Pedro Tchoca, who had his contract renewed this Tuesday (9) and was loaned to Ceará in the middle of last season.

Renato joined Corinthians in 2019 to play in the U-15 category, even being called up for the Brazilian National Team in that age group. Later, he was promoted to the U-17 and U-20 teams, where he regularly played as a starter. Counting both categories, he played 134 matches and scored 18 goals for the “Filhos do Terrão”.
