Corinthians lose to Santos in Brasileirão after four years

Corinthians was defeated by Santos 3-1 on the night of last Wednesday, the 15th, in a Brasileirão match. With this result, Timão lost a streak of seven games without being defeated by their rival in championship matches, which had been ongoing since February 17, 2021.

At that time, the tournament was valid for the 2020 edition but took place partly in the following year due to the pandemic. In this match, Santos defeated Corinthians 1-0 at Vila Belmiro with a goal by Marcos Leonardo. Since then, there have been seven matches, as mentioned, with four victories for Timão and three draws.
