Corinthians marked the centenary of Parque São Jorge, the club’s social headquarters, on 18 August 2026. The date mirrors 1926, when the club formalised purchase of a 45,000 square metre plot in Tatuapé.
According to Meu Timao, acting president Ernesto Cassano went to São Paulo’s sixth Notary Office to sign the deed. From then, the press nicknamed Corinthians the “clube da Fazendinha” as the sports complex took shape.
The stadium was later named Alfredo Schürig. Works started in 1926 and finished two years later. The official opening on 22 July 1928 ended 2-2 against América-RJ before roughly 2,000.
Corinthians had, however, played there earlier. On 25 January 1923 they beat Sírio 1-0 in the extended 1922 Campeonato Paulista, a title the club won.
The men’s team played 468 matches at Fazendinha, winning 347, losing 62 and drawing 59, a 78.35% return. The last game came in 2002, a 1-0 friendly over Brasiliense, Fabinho scoring. It was the farewell as regular home, matches moved to Pacaembu and the venue served as a training base until CT Dr. Joaquim Grava opened in 2010.
The Brabas still use Fazendinha and boast 90 wins, 10 draws and five defeats, an 88.89% record. They host Internacional at 18:00 on Saturday in the 17th and final round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino regular phase.
Parque São Jorge now spans about 158,000 square metres and houses the club’s administration. Facilities include a grand hall, theatre, pools, a panoramic restaurant, a memorial, courts and two arenas, including Wlamir Marques for basketball and futsal.
