Corinthians midfielder eyed by Europe, agent: “no rush”

The agent Fernando Brito, who represents midfielder Breno Bidon, stated that the 20-year-old player wishes to play in European football and has already attracted the interest of several clubs on the continent, but assured that there is no rush for a departure from Corinthians at this moment.

In an interview with ge.globo, Brito revealed that inquiries are frequent and involve major teams in the European scene, something that, according to him, was already expected given the player's profile.

“Among the big European clubs, I can't tell you which one I haven't talked to. Any club you mention, at some point we've had some inquiry, relationship, or contact. That doesn't mean it will evolve into a proposal. The point is that Breno has a real possibility of having dual citizenship, and his playing style offers what Europe seeks. It's almost natural, we already expected it”, he said.

According to the agent, Bidon has been monitored by foreign clubs since his youth categories but has always prioritized establishing himself at Timão and winning titles before considering an international transfer.

“The time for Breno to go to Europe will come. It's a fact. We are not in a hurry for that. We are very happy at Corinthians, in the professional team, with Dorival and Fabinho, the entire board, which has given us all the support. We have a very well-established project with the club.”, he stated.

Brito emphasized that the departure will only happen when it is positive for all parties involved: “When it is meant to happen, it will happen naturally. It's the player's dream. When it is meant to happen, it will be at a good time for everyone. We are not in a hurry for that”, he declared.

With a contract until December 31, 2029, Breno Bidon has a release clause set at 100 million euros (about R$ 635 million) for international transfers and R$ 370 million for clubs in the Brazilian market.

The midfielder gained more space in the main squad after the arrival of coach Dorival Júnior and was one of the highlights in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil final. Last Sunday, he performed a stunning dribble on Cauã Barros in the play that led to Corinthians' second goal, scored by Memphis Depay, in the 2-1 victory over Vasco, a result that secured the club's fourth national championship.

When asked about the player's market value, the agent avoided setting figures and highlighted Bidon's sporting performance: “The market dictates that. It will be worth what the market pays. It's natural, on the day there is an offer, Corinthians will want to raise it, and the buying club will want to lower it. We are here to mediate all this and keep it balanced. He is worth a lot. He is worth a Copa do Brasil, a Campeonato Paulista, a Copinha. He is worth a lot to us.”

Brito also praised the player's personal profile and projected an ambitious future. Despite acknowledging the growth of the Saudi Arabian market, the agent made it clear that the main focus remains European football. He noted that other destinations are not ruled out but emphasized the importance of the right choice.

“He is a spectacular kid, with a wonderful heart, humble. He has a lot to achieve. He has the Brazilian national team and many dreams ahead. He is not just concerned with the sale value.”, he said.

“We have dreams and project that Breno Bidon can play in a Champions League and be a champion. But the great professionals from Europe are in Saudi Arabia today. It's part of the evolution. Breno is still a 20-year-old player, he has a lot to achieve and grow.”, he continued.

“I won't say no (to Saudi Arabia), but it doesn't entice me. The right club will come, and the right time will come. The big challenge is not going to Europe, not making a big sale to Saudi Arabia or Europe. It's sustaining this new project as we did at Corinthians. To get here and sustain this project at Corinthians, it was planned, studied, worked on, there was resilience and commitment. Breno turned down offers even before being in the professional team at Corinthians.”, he concluded.

Considered one of the main assets of the squad, Bidon is part of Corinthians' financial planning, which projects to raise R$ 151 million from player sales in 2026. Amid a severe financial crisis, with an estimated debt of R$ 2.7 billion, the club sees player negotiations as crucial to balancing the accounts. In 2025, Timão raised R$ 90 million from economic rights, a figure well below the initially budgeted R$ 240.6 million.
