Corinthians have been notified by main sponsor Esportes da Sorte over a possible ban on betting firms in Brazilian football. The partners, together since 2024, fear that approval of the measure could jeopardise the deal.

According to Meu Timao, the club received the notice on Thursday from Esportes da Sorte.

In October, Corinthians will receive R$ 10 million from Futebol Forte União as an advance on broadcast rights negotiated between the club and the bloc.

The club have fallen behind on the last three instalments of an agreement with the União, totalling R$ 21 million. They have been notified by the Procuradoria-Geral da Fazenda Nacional.

Any termination of that agreement would remove the benefits granted and reinstate the debt without discounts.
