Gaviões da Fiel have organised a special caravan of long-standing members to Curitiba for Corinthians’ 19:30 kick-off at Athletico-PR on Thursday night, with attendance at Arena da Baixada restricted to women, children up to 12, older supporters and people with disabilities.

According to Meu Timao, composer and interpreter Ernesto Teixeira is among the travelling party, and the Gaviões samba school were Special Group runners-up at São Paulo’s 2026 Carnival.

The group framed the trip as different, led by the old guard who helped build its story, a convoy of veterans carrying decades of loyalty on the road.

The limited crowd follows a sanction on Athletico for violence involving their own fans in the 2025 Série B derby with Coritiba, with a loss of home venue and a R$ 15,000 fine decided by the STJD.

Corinthians, alongside legal teams linked to organised groups including Gaviões, sought to overturn the measure in court, but the request was not granted and the restrictions remain. Even so, roughly 4,000 away tickets have been sold out.

On the pitch, the Parque São Jorge club are chasing a win in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileiro that could move them up to fifth, taking them to six points.
