Corinthians pair unveil new shirt numbers ahead of 2026 Paulista opener | OneFootball

Corinthians begin their Campeonato Paulista campaign on Sunday at 16:00 against Ponte Preta at Neo Química Arena. Breno Bidon and Vitinho will do so with new shirt numbers.

Bidon, 20, an academy product, inherits number seven after Maycon’s move to Atlético-MG. “It feels very good. We know how important the number seven shirt is. Wearing this shirt is very important and special to me,” he told Corinthians TV.

Bidon has 101 appearances for Corinthians, 77 as a starter, with 45 wins, 27 draws and 29 defeats. He was decisive in the 2025 Paulista and Copa do Brasil titles.

Vitinho assumes number 11, last worn by Ángel Romero, who departed in December 2025. “It is a number I have always worn, and it is an honour to use the shirt Romero wore, as did idols like Ricardinho and Sheik,” Vitinho said. “We want to start on the right foot in this first match and give our best to come out victorious from the start.”

The forward joined in August 2025 and soon lifted the Copa do Brasil, making 17 appearances with seven wins, four draws, six defeats and three assists.

The defending champions then face Red Bull Bragantino, São Paulo, Santos, Velo Clube, Capivariano, Palmeiras and São Bernardo in the first phase.
