Corinthians plan two training sessions at Neo Química Arena next week to trial the new pitch before hosting Remo at 19:30 next Thursday in the 19th round of the Brasileirão. It will be their first game there in 57 days and the surface’s debut.

According to Meu Timao, the club has blocked Casa do Povo tours on 20 and 21 July, Monday and Tuesday, to give Fernando Diniz and his staff full scope to adapt the squad to the revamped surface.

The first team usually trains at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, about 16 km away. Their last Arena session was in September 2024 before São Paulo, open to the public, with more than 25,000 in attendance.

Full pitch replacement began in early June, right after Brazil’s women beat the United States 2-1 in a friendly, using the World Cup break to finish a process started last year during the Club World Cup.

An earlier phase only stitched synthetic fibres, and in September the turf was restored with NFL investment for Kansas City Chiefs v Los Angeles Chargers. The complete soil swap, pushed to June and July this year, is being delivered by World Sports.

The facade is being cleaned, due by September at an estimated R$ 500,000 to R$ 600,000, and seat removal in the South sector should raise capacity from 7,406 to 9,083, subject to approvals. Before the pause, Corinthians beat Atlético-MG 1-0 and Grêmio 3-1, climbing to 10th, and another win could bring sixth, depending on other results.
