Corinthians president Osmar Stabile skips MP-SP hearing, given 10 days to submit defence | OneFootball

Osmar Stabile, the Corinthians president, skipped Thursday’s MP-SP hearing into alleged irregularities in the club’s security contracts.

According to Meu Timao, he told prosecutor Cássio Roberto Conserino he would respond in writing within 10 days.

The session had been postponed from June. Stabile was named an investigated party on 9 June when formal explanations were requested.

The probe, opened in May 2026, examines Mega Assessoria Operacional Ltda’s security work in September and October 2025. Prosecutors say it lacked Polícia Federal authorisation and a contract, yet issued three invoices totalling R$ 676.6 thousand.

The firm is registered to Fernando José da Silva, known as Nandão, then a club manager. He told investigators he set it up at director Fábio Soares’s request to pay guards, while the MP probes possible rule circumvention.

The case has widened to Bear Security, which has guarded Stabile and his family since July 2025. It also lacked federal clearance, had Corinthians as its only client, and received about R$ 587 thousand via 12 invoices.

Prosecutors cited two grounds for naming Stabile, Soares’s claim the emergency hire came from the president, and documents showing Fernando remained employed during the services. They also flagged contradictions over Fernando’s employment dates with the club.

Stabile has said the hires followed a 31 May 2025 invasion of the president’s floor by Augusto Melo’s supporters. He said he merely asked Fernando to reorganise security, denied ordering the company’s creation, called it an administrative error, and later sidelined Soares before his resignation.
