Corinthians opened the Campeonato Paulista de Futsal with a 4-0 win over Praia Grande at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, as 18-year-old Kaio Lopes marked his senior debut with an assist.

According to Meu Timao, Under-20 coach Daniel Magalhães took charge with Fernando Malafaia suspended. The left-footer entered eight minutes before the interval for Renatinho and, within seconds, pounced on a loose ball to launch a break with Rick that produced the second goal and his first assist.

Lopes was promoted after Igor Bredof received a Brazil Under-21 call-up for this weekend’s Liga Evolução final against Argentina. Bredof has been training in Jaraguá do Sul since Tuesday.

A Corinthians player since 2014 after a successful trial aged seven, Lopes also featured in 11-a-side football. He departed in 2019 for Lausanne Paulista, returning in 2023 and emerging as a standout of the 2007 group.

He has lifted five trophies with Corinthians, most recently the Under-19 Copa Mundo do Futsal at the end of 2025, when he led the side to the club’s third title in the competition.

The first team visit Carlos Barbosa on 18 April at Centro Sérgio Luiz Guerra in the LNF third round, kick-off 17:30. The Under-20s face Santos on 23 April at Ginásio Wlamir Marques in the state championship.
