Corinthians beat Indaiatuba 3-1 at the Ginásio Wlamir Marques on Wednesday in the fifth round of the Campeonato Paulista de Futsal, staying unbeaten and going top. Maicon struck twice, with Vinícius Paiva adding the other.

The result completes a run that opened with three clean-sheet wins over Praia Grande, Taubaté and Pulo Futsal, followed by a 1-1 draw with Santo André in the previous round.

It is the club’s third-best Paulistão start of the decade, totalling 13 points from four wins and one draw. The current campaign trails 2022 and 2025, when they took maximum points from the first five games.

Even so, this start ranks ahead of 2024, and of 2021 and 2023. Corinthians now sit above Magnus on goal difference, two goals better than the Sorocaba side despite being level on points.

Form in the Liga Nacional de Futsal has been weaker. Corinthians are 13th with one win, one draw and five defeats from seven matches, on four points, one clear of Marreco, who currently occupy the first relegation place.

Fernando Malafaia’s team host Santo André on Monday, eight June, in LNF round eight at Wlamir Marques, with kick-off at 20:00.
