Corinthians returned to CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on Monday morning, launching preparations for the decisive Copa Libertadores quarter-final second leg against Estudiantes, after a 2-1 defeat to Flamengo in the Brasileiro.
According to Meu Timao, players who featured for more than 45 minutes in Rio stayed indoors for recovery work, while the rest trained on the pitch. After the warm-up, drills focused on crossing and finishing.
Fernando Diniz then led a 10 v 10 tactical exercise tailored to the Argentine opponents. He also coached specific in-game scenarios and held a penalty-taking session.
Corinthians will be without midfielder Raniele, who is suspended, and forward Yuri Alberto for the decider in Itaquera. André Luiz may be involved.
Training resumes on Tuesday afternoon to complete preparations. The tie is level at 1-1 heading into Wednesday’s 21:30 kick-off at Neo Química Arena. A win sends Corinthians into the semi-finals, another draw would take it to penalties.
