Corinthians seek to extend recent record in Neo Química debuts

Corinthians face Palmeiras in the Derby for the 11th round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship, at 6:30 p.m. (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena. Timão will look to make the most of home advantage to maintain their strong record in coaches’ debuts at the House of the People.

Fernando Diniz made his debut in charge of Corinthians with a win over Platense away from home in the Libertadores, and now he is trying to repeat what four of the club’s last six coaches achieved: winning their first home match and getting off to a strong start at Neo Química Arena.

Since 2021, Sylvinho, beaten 1-0 by Atlético-GO in the 2021 Brasileirão, and Vanderlei Luxemburgo, beaten 2-1 by Independiente del Valle in the 2023 Libertadores, have been the only ones to leave NQA with negative results in their home debuts. On the other hand, Dorival Jr, Ramón Díaz, António Oliveira, Fernando Lázaro, and Vítor Pereira all won in their first match at the House of the People.
