Corinthians set record for games before this decade’s Women’s Libertadores

Corinthians traveled to Argentina on the morning of last Tuesday, October 30, to compete in the Women's Libertadores. The team has already played 39 matches this season, which is the highest number of games the Brabas have played in a single decade before starting the continental competition.

Among recent seasons, only 2023 came close to this mark, with 35 matches. In 2021 and 2024, the team took the field 34 times, while in 2022 there were only 31 matches. In terms of performance, the 2025 campaign is the second lowest in recent years: 76.06%, surpassing only the 74% recorded in 2022.

Considering the entire era since the reactivation of women's football in 2016, only 2017 (42 games) and 2019 (40) surpassed the current numbers. It is important to note, however, that at that time the calendar was different, as the Libertadores took place only at the end of the season.

Today, the competition takes place at the tail end of the year, but Corinthians will still have the knockout stage of the Paulista Championship ahead upon returning from the continental tournament. In the Copa do Brasil, however, the team has already said goodbye.

With the delegation landing this Tuesday, the squad will have about a day and a half to prepare before their debut. The Brabas' first challenge will be this Thursday, at 4pm (Brasília time), against Independiente Del Valle from Ecuador. The match will be held at the Florencio Sola stadium in Buenos Aires, the venue for the competition.
