Corinthians set to sign former Botafogo youth executive

Four days after announcing the dismissal of Alex Brasil, Corinthians is finalizing the hiring of Erasmo Damiani for the role of executive director of the youth categories. The contract is expected to be finalized soon, according to information initially released by GE and confirmed by Central do Timão.

The negotiations are being led by President Osmar Stabile, who aims to conclude the talks at the beginning of this week. The likely future executive will have to deal with an inflated number of players and the absence of a coach for the under-17 category, as Raphael Laruccia was also recently dismissed.

Besides Botafogo, the last club where the executive made decisions, Damiani was also involved in the youth systems of Palmeiras, Internacional, Figueirense, and Atlético-MG, and took on the role of coordinator for the youth categories of the Brazilian National Team during the country's first Olympic gold medal win in 2016.

He was dismissed by Botafogo in August this year, having spent just over six months at the Rio de Janeiro club. Now, he will work alongside Corinthians' directors, especially Nenê do Posto, who is the statutory director appointed by Osmar Stabile for the department.
