Corinthians moved towards completing preparations on Friday in the penultimate week before the Brasileirão Feminino derby with Palmeiras, scheduled for next Friday at 21:30 at Arena Barueri, in round three.
In the morning the squad completed activation work in the gym, then coach Emily Lima led a tactical session on the training pitch, followed by a video review run by the performance analysis team. According to Meu Timao, the programme formed part of the final tune-up during the international window.
Corinthians conclude this week’s work on Saturday and will rest on Sunday. The final stretch of preparation begins on Monday after the international break ends.
10 players are on international duty: Lelê, Thais Ferreira, Tamires, Ana Vitória, Duda Sampaio, Gabi Zanotti and Jaqueline for Brazil, Dayana Rodríguez for Venezuela, Belén Aquino for Uruguay, and Gisela Robledo for Colombia. All are scheduled to play on Saturday: Venezuela v América-MEX at 14:00, Uruguay v Ecuador at 16:00, Colombia v United States at 17:30, Brazil v Mexico at 20:00.
Agustina Barroso remains in rehabilitation from a muscle injury to her left leg, and Thaís Regina is recovering from surgery after a fracture of the left fibula. Full-back Gi Fernandes, rehabbing a rectus femoris strain in her left thigh, returned to the pitch during the week.
Corinthians are looking to respond in the league after drawing with Fluminense at the Neo Química Arena, a result that led to Lucas Piccinato’s dismissal. They sit fifth on four points.
