Corinthians have submitted part of the documents requested by the MP-SP after a 12 March visit to Parque São Jorge, but the minutes of Monday’s vote on the provisional removal of Romeu Tuma Júnior and the full Ernst & Young audit remain outstanding. The minutes carry a 72-hour deadline, running to Friday.
According to Meu Timao, material from the technology department, led by Marcelo Munhoes, including invoice backups, has been delivered, while seven years of accounts and bank statements from the Andrés Sanchez and Duilio Monteiro Alves administrations were given a 48-hour deadline on Tuesday by prosecutor Cassio Roberto Conserino.
Prosecutors say the vote may have breached the club’s Statute and internal rules. Although 115 councillors backed the suspension, senior council figures and the Council’s Justice Commission have denied the meeting’s legal validity. Members and a councillor have also asked the MP-SP to seek judicial intervention, citing president Osmar Stabile’s contentious convocation.
The EY review began in 2024 under Augusto Melo. Prosecutors say its contents could intersect with criminal probes into spending under former presidents Andrés Sanchez, Duilio Monteiro Alves and Augusto Melo, and potential tax issues, stressing Corinthians is a victim and should submit the full file. The club acknowledged receipt in October under Osmar Stabile but has not disclosed it, citing confidentiality.
EY examined a range of commercial contracts and ran background checks on links between officials, relatives and companies. The VaideBet master sponsorship, which EY reviewed, resulted in Augusto Melo’s impeachment and a court complaint, and the club terminated the deal in May 2024 amid suspected irregularities in intermediary payments.
At the 12 March meeting, the club agreed to supply bank statements tied to cash advances, reports of cash or transfers within 10 days, CF and CD minutes for 2018 to May 2025, and a full invoice backup. Several CF and CD minutes could not be located at the time, and the remainder were to be requested for delivery within five days. The Cori meeting of 25 November 2024, which discussed the report, also has a five-day deadline.
