According to TMC, Corinthians are ‘testing’ futsal top scorer Maicon, 22, in 11-a-side at Fernando Diniz’s request. He has 119 official futsal games for the club, with 53 goals, 21 assists and two titles.
The winger has trained with the Under-20s, used on both flanks and in midfield, and has impressed staff. That stint ends on Friday, and a further assessment with the senior squad has not been ruled out.
Diniz has known Maicon since Clube Esportivo da Penha, where his son played federated futsal. The coach also came through futsal and often applies its concepts in his teams.
Maicon played only football until he was 18, then switched to futsal with Penha. He joined Corinthians in 2023 for the Under-20s and was promoted the following year. He won the Liga Evolução Under-20 with Brazil in 2025.
This season he leads Corinthians’ futsal scoring with 14 in 28 games, plus four assists, and is contracted until the end of 2027.
To register him in professional football, Corinthians must first clear three transfer bans, two from FIFA and one from the CBF, totalling about R$ 21 million. He currently has no football registration with the FPF or in the CBF’s BID.
A free futsal week enabled the sessions. Corinthians face Magnus at Arena Sorocaba on Thursday at 20:00 in Paulista round 12, and lead the competition. The LNF playoffs follow in early September against Pato.
