Corinthians unscathed, begin prep for Copa do Brasil final return

After the goalless draw against Vasco at the Neo Química Arena in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil final last Wednesday night (17th), Corinthians returned to the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center to prepare for the second leg of the decision. Next Sunday (21st), at 6 PM (Brasília time), the two teams will face off at Maracanã.

On the afternoon of this Thursday (18th), the players who played more than 45 minutes in the match against the Carioca team underwent a regenerative activity inside the training center. The rest, on the other hand, did strength training in the gym and later went to the field.

There, they did a warm-up, and soon after, the coaching staff organized a four-on-four confrontation exercise with finishing. A small-sided field activity was also conducted. It is worth noting that, of the eight Corinthians players on the brink of suspension for the first game, none received a yellow card.

They were: goalkeeper Hugo Souza, right-back Matheuzinho, left-back Fabrizio Angileri, defenders Gustavo Henrique and André Ramalho, midfielder Maycon, as well as midfielders Breno Bidon and Rodrigo Garro. Thus, Dorival Júnior goes into the second game with the entire squad available.

The players will have their penultimate training session for the match on the morning of this Friday (19th). The Alvinegro seeks to win their fourth Copa do Brasil title after 16 years (1995, 2002, and 2009). Since then, they have been runners-up twice (2018 and 2022) and reached the semifinals twice (2023 and 2024). In case of another draw this Sunday, the champion will be decided by penalty shootout.
