Corinthians yet to beat a Série A side this season

Corinthians played their first Brasileirão match at the Urbano Caldeira Stadium, Vila Belmiro, and were defeated by Bahia. The match took place before the club's first decisive game of the season, against Flamengo, for the Supercopa do Brasil. With this result, Timão remains without a win against teams competing in Série A, including games from the Paulistão.

The first match against a top-tier club was against Red Bull Bragantino, in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista. On that occasion, Dorival Júnior fielded an alternative team from the start, and Corinthians ended up being defeated 3-0, marking the team's biggest setback of the season so far.

In the following round, Corinthians faced São Paulo, this time with the main team and at the Neo Química Arena. The People's Team started off losing but managed to equalize in the final minutes with a goal from Breno Bidon, drawing 1-1. In the subsequent game, another classic: 1-1 against Santos, with a goal by Yuri Alberto and a late goal conceded by Gabigol.

In the last challenge, this time in Série A of the Brasileirão, Corinthians started by leading against Bahia, with another goal from Bidon, but suffered a comeback still in the first half. The team led by Dorival tried to equalize, but the tricolor goalkeeper saved several chances, in addition to missed goals by the alvinegro players themselves.

Now, Corinthians will have the big game since the start of 2026. Timão faces Flamengo for the Supercopa do Brasil, next Sunday, February 1st. The match will take place at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, starting at 4 PM (Brasília time).
