Coritiba host Corinthians in the Brasileirão on Sunday, 23 August 2026 at Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira, with just one point separating the sides in the Copa Sudamericana places.
In the standings, Coritiba sit 10th on 31 points while Corinthians are ninth with 32. Recent head to head favours the visitors, who have won six of the last 10 meetings, including a 2-0 victory in March.
Coxa have one win in their last five league games, drawing at São Paulo most recently. Timão's momentum is stronger, with three wins in five across competitions, including victory at RB Bragantino and a Libertadores home win over Rosario.
Coxa-Branca are without Josue and Brian Ocampo, while goalkeeper Pedro Rangel and forward Lucas Ronier are also unavailable. For Coringão, creator Rodrigo Garro is suspended and striker Yuri Alberto is injured. Garro has six league assists this season per the rankings, with Josue joint second on nine.
Coxa may lean on wide service and aerial finishes. They have seven headed goals and a 25.11% open play cross accuracy. Coringão tend to control more of the ball with 53% possession and have kept 10 clean sheets, so the visitors could look to manage the game and strike through measured build-up.
Timão can consolidate a top half place and strengthen their Sudamericana push with a win, while Coxa could jump them and firm up their own claim. A draw would keep the pack tight around mid-table.
