Costa Rica, Mexico search for first win in U-17 Women’s World Cup

MIAMI – The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2025 continues as Concacaf nations Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States play their second match of the Group Stage on Tuesday.
Costa Rica seeks its first three points in Group A against Brazil. The United States will seek its second set of three points in Group C when it faces China PR. Mexico will close the day seeking its first victory in Group B against the Netherlands.
Costa Rica vs. Brazil
Costa Rica faces Brazil in Group A on Tuesday at Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 1) in Salé, Morocco.
Las Ticas fell 3-nil to Italy in their opening encounter. Lucía Paniagua led the way for Costa Rica with two chances created and seven passes in the final third. Tiara Ruiz led the way defensively with nine recoveries.
Brazil will seek its second win after a 3-nil win over the hosts in the tournament’s opening match.
United States vs. China PR
The United States of America face China PR in Group C at Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 3) in Salé, Morocco.
Both nations seek their second set of points after winning their opening encounters, with China’s 5-nil win over Norway placing the Asian side top of the group on goal difference. The U.S. won 3-nil against Ecuador to start its campaign. Lauren Malson, Nyanya Touray, and Melia Brewer struck the goals for The Stars and Stripes.
Netherlands vs. Mexico
Mexico meets the Netherlands in Group B at Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 2) in Salé, Morocco.
This will be the first time these teams share the pitch in the U-17 WWC. Mexico will seek to rebound from a 2-nil loss to Korea DPR, while the Netherlands is coming off 4-3 win over Cameroon.
