Bayern Munich are not looking to sign Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White in the future.
Forest are under no pressure to sell Gibbs-White after selling Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for £116m.
The 26-year-old registered 18 goals and seven assists across all competitions last season, and new Forest boss Oliver Glasner wants to build a strong squad around him.
Earlier this month, the Daily Mail claimed that Gibbs-White could become an option for Bayern Munich after the midfielder switched agents.
Gibbs-White has changed his representatives to ROOF, an emerging force in the world of football agents.
ROOF’s headquarters are in Germany and, as well as Gibbs-White, they represent Kai Havertz, Virgil van Dijk, Ademola Lookman and Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler.
The report claimed that Gibbs-White could be among the candidates to replace Michael Olise if he moves to Real Madrid.
“Intriguingly, Daily Mail Sport understands that if Michael Olise leaves Bayern Munich this summer, Gibbs-White would be among the candidates to replace him. Olise is wanted by Real Madrid.
It is worth noting that ROOF have strong links with Bayern, who have recruited extremely well from the Premier League recently by signing Olise in 2024, and Harry Kane a year earlier. Historically, English clubs are more amenable to selling their top players overseas than to domestic rivals, which could also work in Bayern’s favour.”
Christian Falk has informed CFBayern Insider that Morgan Gibbs-White is not an option for Bayern, as the Bavarian giants already have plenty of quality players in his position.
Falk added: “It is NOT TRUE: Bayern are looking at Morgan Gibbs-White as a potential Michael Olise replacement if the Frenchman signs for Real Madrid. In midfield, Bayern Munich has many good players in this position, including Joshua Kimmich and Lennart Karl, and then you have up-and-coming stars like Tomas Bischof, who is putting pressure on more established stars like Aleksandar Pavlović.
“Konrad Laimer can also play there. Then, when it comes to the wings, Bayern can call upon Luis Diaz and Lennart Karl. So, no, Bayern are not searching to bolster the position. The Daily Mail wrote that the Nottingham Forest man could be considered a potential replacement for Olise, but I just don’t see that. More to the point, Bayern Munich won’t sell Michael Olise this summer.”
Gibbs-White is most comfortable playing in the number 10 role, although he has often played out wide and even as a false nine.
In that position, Bayern already have Jamal Musiala and Lennart Karl, while Serge Gnabry can also operate there.
In central midfield, the German champions have Joshua Kimmich, Tom Bischof and Aleksandar Pavlovic as their main options.
Moreover, Gibbs-White is a different type of player to Olise and would not be a like-for-like replacement.
Bayern have no intention of selling Olise, and there is a strong chance that the Frenchman could sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena.
