Karim Coulibaly is expected to leave Werder Bremen this summer, with a private meeting on Tuesday between his agent Nochi Hamasor and club chiefs ending in agreement on a transfer, Bild reports.

The centre-half is currently sidelined with a torn muscle fibre. Earlier this season he broke through and became a regular starter.

His performances drew interest from multiple clubs, and Bremen rejected a €20 million offer in the winter window.

If Bremen avoid relegation, a fee in the region of €40-45 million is being discussed.

Such a sale would set a new club record, surpassing Diego’s €27 million move to Juventus in 2009. Interest has come from the Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Premier League.
