Daniel Siebert, a 41-year-old teacher from Berlin, will referee the match. Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn will assist on the sidelines. Lars Erbst will be the fourth official. Benjamin Cortus will monitor the match as VAR. Siebert has been a FIFA referee since 2014 and cites sport and travel as his main interests. He refereed BVB for the first time on 12 September 2015, when Borussia won 4-2 in Hanover. He has refereed a total of 35 matches involving BVB (24 wins, five draws, six defeats). He last refereed BVB this season for their home match against Bremen (3-0).
