Courtney Meppen-Walter, a former Manchester City youth player and England under-17 and under-18 international, died on Tuesday, aged 32. The circumstances of his death have not been disclosed.
In 2013 he was sentenced to 16 months in prison after causing a fatal road crash in September 2012 that killed two people, aged 32 and 37, according to the BBC.

He also played for Carlisle, Stockport and Bury, and was released by Bury at the end of last season.
Bury posted a message on X expressing deep sadness at the news.
Nantwich chairman Jon Gold, whose club he also represented, paid tribute and described him as an exceptional character with a big heart.
