A year that will live in the memories of Coventry supporters both young and old, the Sky Blues will be hosting top-flight football next season for the first time in a quarter of a decade.

Frank Lampard has etched his name into the history books at the CBS Arena, being the brains behind the operation, though there is no time for the former Chelsea and England midfielder to become complacent.

The summer break will give him and his squad the chance to recharge their batteries ahead of the next campaign, but for Lampard, he must have his phone with him at all times, with the transfer window on the horizon.

Plates will almost certainly already be spinning in terms of looking to get some deals across the line, as the Sky Blues have seen themselves linked with an interesting switch for a Polish defender, but face European competition for his signature.

Plans for recruitment across clubs in the English football pyramid, and indeed Europe, will be well underway, and that's no different in the case of Coventry.

The Sky Blues are in for an exciting summer at the CBS Arena as they prepare their squad for the Premier League, and are seemingly looking to get a few deals over the line as quickly as possible.

Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, who has spent the season on loan with Coventry from Brighton and Hove Albion, has been heavily linked with a permanent move, and it looks as though a return is on the horizon, beating out the likes of Newcastle United for his signature, in what may prove to be one of their most important deals of the entire window.

Now, the Sky Blues have been linked with Cracovia defender Oskar Wojcik, with the 22-year-old attracting interest from numerous clubs in the Championship, as well as the Italian top-flight, as per Polish publication Goal.

Wojcik has enjoyed a stellar year in Krakow, having made the step up to the first team this campaign, and now looks to be on the move this summer, with a €5 million fee being touted.

Indeed, Scottish giants Celtic reportedly saw a bid of €4 million rejected during the latter stages of the winter window, with his stock only set to increase in the coming months.

Wojcik could follow in the footsteps of the likes of Michal Helik, Bartosz Kapustka, and Kryzstof Piatek to make the move from Cracovia elsewhere, with Helik now starring in the Championship, Kapustka being their most expensive sale of all time when he joined Leicester City in 2016 for £7.5 million, and Piatek, who would eventually join AC Milan for €35 million in January 2019.

With Lampard set to play a crucial role in terms of recruitment at Coventry this summer, he will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of preparing his side for the Premier League this summer.

If everything goes as planned, Rushworth will make the permanent switch from Brighton and won't have to worry about signing a new goalkeeper, allowing them to focus elsewhere.

Wojcik is an interesting prospect, and whether he is capable of making the immediate step-up to the top-flight and displacing either Bobby Thomas or Liam Kitching in the back line remains to be seen.

Coventry cannot afford to take gambles like Wojcik and hope they can adapt to the English top-flight instantly, but they indeed risk signing him as either a squad player or preparing to loan him out upon his arrival.

Either way, the Sky Blues face European competition for his services, and must get their noses in first if any deal is to become a formality.
