Coventry City have completed the signing of Gustavo Hamer from Sheffield United, with the midfielder returning to the Sky Blues on a long-term contract.
The 29-year-old enjoyed a memorable three-year spell at Coventry between 2020 and 2023, scoring 19 goals in 132 appearances.
Now back at Coventry, who have paid around £6m for the Brazilian, Hamer says the move is exactly what he wanted.
“I’m buzzing, it’s the move I wanted to make,” he said.
“To go to the Premier League with Coventry was something I always dreamt of so when the Club came back in for me, it was very special so I’m very happy.
“The love I got from the fans was amazing so the only thing I can give back to them is goals, assists and a good performance so that’s what I will try to do.
“Of course, you can’t score or give an assist every game but what I can do is give 100 per cent for the badge, for the Club and for the fans.”
Coventry are keen on further bolstering boss Frank Lampard’s squad ahead of their Premier League return, with attacking signings being sought.
Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk has emerged as a loan target for the Sky Blues, with Chelsea believed to be willing to sanction a temporary exit for the Ukrainian.
