Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in six World Cups, his strike making it 2-0 against Uzbekistan at NRG Stadium in Houston on Tuesday.

The Portuguese forward, 41, started in the line-up selected by Spanish coach Roberto Martínez.

He had earlier put his side 1-0 up after six minutes, turning in a Joao Cancelo cross.

Ronaldo has previously scored one goal at Germany 2006, one at South Africa 2010 and one at Brazil 2014.

He added four at Russia 2018 and one at Qatar 2022, and now has one at the 2026 World Cup.
