Cristiano Ronaldo answered yes when asked in a lie detector test if he is football’s greatest goalscorer, and the device indicated he was telling the truth.
Sports.ndtv.com reports that he has rejoined Portugal for Euro 2024 qualifying, facing Slovakia in Bratislava on Friday before hosting Luxembourg in Algarve on Monday.
At 38, Ronaldo continues to be selected, having joined Al-Nassr in January. Last month he captained the club to their first-ever Arab Club Champions title, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
In the Saudi Pro League he has six goals and four assists in four matches. Despite that return, Al-Nassr are sixth on nine points after losing their first two fixtures.
Ronaldo is one of three Saudi-based Portugal call-ups, alongside Ruben Neves and Otavio. Neves plays for leaders Al-Hilal, while Otavio has joined Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. Head coach Roberto Martinez said he would assess the condition of players arriving from Saudi Arabia, describing it as a different situation that needs adapting to rather than making a fuss about.
