Cristiano Ronaldo has urged the Saudi Pro League to ban supporters who chanted about his former Portugal team-mate Diogo Jota. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the chants were heard during Al-Taawoun's match against Al-Hilal on Saturday night.

The Al Nassr forward did not play, while compatriot Ruben Neves featured for Al-Hilal. Footage on social media showed the former Wolves midfielder gesturing to the sky after audible chants of "Jota" were heard from the stands.

Jota died in the summer of 2025 alongside his brother Andre Silva after a car crash in Zamora. Neves served as a pallbearer at his funeral.

Al-Hilal won 6-0. Ronaldo later commented on Instagram in response to the footage.

"The league must take action and punish this kind of fan behaviour."
