Cruzeiro owner ‘to offer’ club lawyers to Gerson in Flamengo dispute | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, Cruzeiro's SAF owner Pedrinho BH has made the club's lawyers available to Gerson as he prepares to face Flamengo in court over an image rights clause.

The Rio club intends to sue the midfielder for about R$ 40 million, linked to a contractual provision that acted as a kind of image rights termination fee if either party broke the agreement.

Gerson's representatives were angered by a confidential document being leaked to the media by members of Flamengo's board, escalating tensions behind the scenes.

Cruzeiro have moved to back their recent signing, with Pedrinho BH willing to support the player's legal defence.

Within Flamengo, the conduct of the player's camp during talks with Zenit displeased sporting director José Boto and president Bap. Flamengo are understood not to include this clause in every contract and do not usually go to court to enforce it.
