Cruzeiro take Santos to CNRD over unpaid Zé Ivaldo fee | OneFootball

Cruzeiro have taken their dispute with Santos to the CBF’s National Dispute Chamber, CNRD, over an unpaid fee for defender Zé Ivaldo. According to Diario Do Peixe, a clause made a permanent buy mandatory once he played in at least 60% of last year’s matches.

The deal carried a US$ 1 million price, roughly R$ 5.3 million at the time, which Santos have not paid. Cruzeiro have also referred the matter to financial fair play.

The chamber is expected to set a deadline for payment and failure to settle in full could lead to sanctions such as an internal transfer ban. The clubs’ boards have a good relationship and may seek an agreement.

Zé Ivaldo is not in Santos’s plans and had been training separately at CT Rei Pelé after the squad’s post-break return. He has since joined Remo on loan until the end of the year and has five appearances.

He remains under contract with Santos until December 2027. This year for the club he has 12 appearances, five in the Brasileirão and seven in the Paulista.

Last year he featured 34 times for Santos, including 17 Brasileiro matches with one goal, 12 in the Paulista and 2 in the Copa do Brasil. He also played friendlies against Coritiba, Desportiva Ferroviária and RB Leipzig.
