Crysencio Summerville joins Al-Hilal and takes number 38 | OneFootball

Crysencio Summerville has completed his move to Al-Hilal on a four-year contract running to 2030. The club said in a statement that the Dutch winger joined from West Ham United on Friday.

He will wear number 38 next season, according to the club’s online store. Numbers above 30 are usually reserved for academy graduates stepping up, so the selection stands out.

Summerville previously wore 38 at Leeds United at the end of the 2020-2021 season while with the under-23s, then again the following campaign after his promotion to the first team.

By the start of 2022-2023 he had switched to 10 at Leeds, then took 7 at West Ham for the past two seasons. Neither is free at Al-Hilal, where Malcom holds 10 and Darwin Nunez has 7.

He could yet regain one of those shirts if either player departs, which would free up his preferred number.
