Good news for Crystal Palace as they prepare to face Manchester United this weekend
Oliver Glasner has allayed fears about Marc Guehi’s fitness after the England international was substituted during Crystal Palace’s 2-1 defeat to Strasbourg.
Guehi returned early from international duty after failing to recover from a foot injury suffered against AZ Alkmaar.
However, there were fears he could be set to miss Sunday’s game against Manchester United after Chris Richards replaced him just after half-time against Strasbourg in the Conference League.
Glasner, though, said the substitution was planned and that Guehi would be available for selection against United.
“Marc was just planned before, because he couldn't train for two-and-a-half weeks, he had the 90 minutes last week [against Wolves], and of course he should play and he will play against Manchester United,” Glasner said post-match.
“That's why we had to manage the minutes, so no issues with Marc.”
Will Hughes was withdrawn just past the half-hour mark after going down clutching his knee, and Glasner admitted the midfielder would have to be assessed in the coming days.
“Will just over-stretched his knee. Let's see – we will assess him. It doesn’t look that bad.”

Palace are looking to get back to winning ways after their five-game unbeaten run in all competitions came to an end against Strasbourg.
Having lost just two of their opening 12 Premier League games, the Eagles are fifth in the table, but Glasner admitted he was concerned that his side’s lack of cutting edge was becoming a theme of their season.
“Again, it's the story [of our season]. We need more players who show up in scoring goals, that's what we know. But on the other hand, nobody does it on purpose, but at the moment it just happens too often,” Glasner told TNT Sport.
“You can't always rely to keep the clean sheet because the opposition is also doing well, and it would give us a little bit more time to relax in a game. If you score the second and third, nothing will cost you.”
